I'd definitely say 'Fancy Box Maker'. I only thought of this as I've seen the occupation before. I do think the word above says 'paper'. Some of these words were added to the census by the enumerator afterwards - maybe they were seeing how many people worked in particular industries with specific materials? Kath. x

Kath, you could be right you know :O) funny how you cant see the word until someone suggests it lol.........the letters are so small I was convinced it could only say 'family'.

Has anyone else had this occupation on a Census? On 1881, I have a wife whose occupation looks like 'Family Box Maker', and what looks like 'paper' written in tiny writing, but a different hand, above the entry.
