Also try www.cyndislist.*com/uksites.htm remove* lot of links to ship lists on this site also has USA site. Also try puting in search 'embarcation lists' then add port or ship you think they left from/by.

if it was before 1930 - then they could be on the census return what details do you have?

Hello, I think I have ancestor who went to the US. I know his name, DOB and POB but don't know when he went. What is the best place in the UK to find this information? He lived in Lancashire so I guess he is likely to have departed from Liverpool.. Any idea's? I know The National Archive have un-indexed records but I don't know if that would help and can't make the trip to TNA for a good few years... Any info appreciated. Cheers
