You lot ARE quick. Many thanks. I do know the references (hopefully I saved them). So, that's the anwer then, it's £7 if they don't have to search?? I'll go in and have a look where you all suggest. Thanks!!!!

You have probably gone to that site everyone was warning about, it seems to be the GRO but its a set up that charges a lot more. Otherwise you must have ticked express delivery or something on the GRO site.

if you know the GRO index (look it up on freeBMd or 1837 online) then it's £7 but if you don't then £23 (more time consuming you see)

Go to:- http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/ You can order from there for £7. Just make sure you order the standard delivery. Next day delivery costs something like £28. Kath. x

It's about the birth certificates. I went onto a site, got halfway through orderingone, and they tell me it's £23.00. Is that right? I thought they were £7. How do you get them for £7? Can I get them through a website for £7??? Or over the telephone??
