Hi Louise, I don't know about birth certificates but certainly on bcarchives site I recently requested a death certificate online and it was e-mailed to be within 24 hours. I am in england, not direct next of kin and it cost about £7 or £8. Regards, Dea

Web address I used was www(.)gov(.)ns(.)ca/nsarm/order/asp. Although the ns is Nova Scotia - you may need to put a replacement there for whichever area you are searching. Try logging onto the gov(.) bit first and see if that helps. J

I don't think so, although I have to say they do need an application by post. At least that was the case when I tried. You can download an application form. I'll look for the web address see if I still have it. Mine were Brits actually, one serving with The Royal Artillery and stationed in Nova Scotia and I was able to get the cert here once I knew the details - through the helpful people on the genforum site. Louise when I was looking for a Canadian marriage I put a thread on genforum(.)genealogy(.)com and I was amazed at the help people gave. Give it a try, you never know. Good luck. Jan
