Local Registry Offices - Can I

only if thats where it was registered, otherwise you have to go through the family records office in london or southport or the registry office its held at sandra

So I have a marirage from 1926 in Woolwich - Therefore I can go to Woolwich Registry Office and order it direct, is that correct? Yipee if that is the case. Thanks

Hi Jayne, That depends......... Some register offices won't do searches unless you know the name of the church. They don't use the GRO index so it's useless at local ROs. Some busy ones also want the exact date and some don't do them as they are too busy. Phone them first to check. Gwynne
