Oh dear! I've just spoken to a very nice librarian at Leeds Central Library but they have no records of any such club. The council website refers me back to the library and I can't find anything on the West Yorkshire Archives Service website. Any other ideas?

Thanks for the advice, Nell. I'll try the library. I'm pretty sure it was some sort of ex-pat club as he was originally from Aberdeen (via Manchester) and very proud of his Scottish roots. Louise

Louise Sounds like it was a club for Scottish ex-pats, rather like the London Welsh Society in London. I can't find it on a2a, but would suggest contacting Leeds Library. nell

Going through some old letters I have found a reference to my 2nd great grandfather being secretary to the Leeds Scottish Club. He moved to Leeds c.1878 so I assume this is sometime in the late 1800s or early 1900s. Does anyone know how I can find out what this club might be? I've tried googling and a few other internet searches but not found anything that looks right. Many thanks, Louise
