ADAWARE Where can I find it?

Heather I don't know if you have seen this from BT www(.)bt(.)com/premiumrates, International calls and Premium rate calls seem to be part of the same scam. You have to be careful with Broadband as well if the old dial-up modem is not removed. When you run Spybot you can see all the dialers they look for and its frightening. Keith

Keith, I said that to sis, but she said it wasnt a premium rate number, it was actually a dialled international number and BT said she would have to pay to stop any international numbers being dialled on her line. Ridiculous or what??

Thanks for all the messages of help. I am beginning to wonder who is tracking who! Mind ,I feel safer with adaware. I had an evening of confusion, something to do with microsoft package update I think. I was telling me I had Configurated the System? What! Anyway, I clicked here + there + somehow managed to get my start up back to normal setting. It's mind boggling for a novice like me. LOL Ann

I use spybot which is great, it also has a list of blacklisted sites and it stops you entering them. BT will block your phone from dialing Premium numbers if you request it, although they try to charge you, don't pay its free. Keith

I would just mention - my sister phoned me two days ago - she had received her phone bill from BT (she has dial up internet) and there was £70 worth of calls to international numbers that she hadnt made. I had advised her to download AVG7 antivirus and a sygate firewall and she said on the bill she could see the last scam call was made the day before she had downloaded them. So well worth making sure you have the protection!

Hi, yes I too strongly recommend this program as I was invaded by viruses and this really helped! The maker is Lavasoft and you can download the program free from their website (just google Lavasoft). Also, I have Spybot as well - this is another good one. Good luck.

Hi I have just cleared out my pc as per instructions from Judy in the states.....................Fantastic instructions, easy to follow, brilliant.Only one query where can I get the free Adaware/spywareblaster she mentions? I do have Spyware protection from AOL + an antivirus prog but thought adaware sounded really good. Thanks a lot, Ann
