Thanks for the ideas. :o) I guess 1000 lines is enough to keep me going for a while!!! I also like the idea of doing some transcribing. After all, I have benefited from someone using their free time wisely. Hubby works shifts so I get a lot of free time in the evenings when I am all alone to indulge my hobby! Claire xx

Dear Claire, You could always volunteer as a transcriber for FreeBMD. I did that for much the same reason. Kate.

I spend some time with my family! they dont see me again for a little while when a certificate arrives, I also know what you mean about not taking it out of the housekeeping! I have been known to pilfer from the shopping money for ancestry credits.

I borrow from the library / buy books about the areas where they lived. I love to read about the geography, transport, living conditions. Joy

Claire, go back to the stuff you did right at the beginning and if you are like me you will find glaring bits that you missed at that time. Ive tidied up lots of stuff, got the references on everything for sources and even suddenly realised connections I hadnt noticed before.

....when you are waiting for certificates? I am waiting to accrue funds (being as I promised I wouldn't take it out the housekeeping) to buy a couple more certs to further my research. In the mean time, I have no more names to look up. I have done about as much as I can with the census info (person married and moved between censuses) so I am twiddling my thumbs. What else could I be doing? Do you look for pictures of their homes? read up about their trade? I am champing at the bit to DO something, but can't! :o( Claire xx
