Hi Sam, 1841! Lucky you. Where are you moving to? We have many LDS & FHS over here and lots of keen people only too happy to help show you where to find places/records. Good Luck, Mel in Oz (North Qld). |

Sam, you can't emigrate now! You've just reached the best bit. Yes there are parish records, but there are all sorts of other things as well and only a fraction of them will ever be on the web. You'll just have some very long holidays back here. B |

Have a great time then. And County records Offices will send parish record details by e mail I expect so it should be OK! Joan |

Hi Samantha, You could look for them on the LDS site (The IGI). Then you could get copies of the parish register entries from the nearest Records Office or County Library...google details. Parish register copies cost much less that civil registration certs. You could go and search more for yourself when you come back from Oz. Good luck. Joan |

hi i have gone back to 1841 census & found the info i need. - now how do i go about getting back any further? do i need parish records?? will i have to visit the actual place or can i buy these online / subscribe to a website??? ideally if they had the records on cdrom of floppy that would be good as i am due to go to australia soon & would rather pay out & continue searching than to stop the main areas i am in are essex / sussex any one know???? ttfn sam |
