Linda, You could try Irishfamilyresearch.co.uk. I tried for over 20 years to find my Gt, Grandfathers birth cert. and they came up with it in a couple of days. Good Luck. Christine.

I think researching Irish relatives is fairly difficult as there isn't much online. There are threads about it quite often, so try putting Ireland or Irish in the search box to find some. nell

I have hit a brick wall and would be grateful for any help or guidance. My great, great, great grandparents were Mathew Tobin (c1837) and Mary Denney (c1843) they lived in the St. Saviour parish of South London (Walworth). The earlies entries I have found are the 1871 census, but I am unable to find an entry for their marriage. Mary came from Cork, Ireland and Tobin is an Irish name, so it may be they married in Ireland and came to London. Every census says that Mathew was born in London, which I know could have been a little white lie on his part. Their children were, David (Davey), Mary, Daniel, Dennis, William, Mary and Ellen. I have joined www.ancestry but have yet to find any Irish records there of any help. I am quite new to all this and would be so pleased for any assistance you good people on this site are able to offer. Thanks o much. Linda
