	Thank you so much, have subscribed and found a site where my great great great grandfather is mentioned. Off to e-mail her now as she has spelt hjis surname so wrong I missed it at first Elaine

	Does anyone know if there was a register/trade directory for boatman on the canals 1800's onwards or of a website that may be helpful Thanks Elaine
