Just been doing one of my web trawls and found this site. www.hiddenlives.org.uk Its about children in care in Victorian an early 20th cent times Lots of pics, case studys and Homes as well as publcations. and a lot more, Looks like its mainly London area but you might find a relly there????

Thanks so much Peter, its nice to know that you are trawling for such interesting info, gives me a little rest. I shall have to go and check it out. I did find that rather interesting one on Family Tree site with pics of alcholics that were issued to publicans - apparently they could get find if they sold a drink to any of these people. Amazing.
