we believe she had twin brothers and maybe 2 sisters. her middlename was unusual - laidlaw - im guessing a surname from ancestors. what would be the easiest way to order her birth certificate? thanks

Hi Karen, you can order her birth cert from GRO Scotland, here's details from their site Apply in writing and we will send a copy within 10 - 14 days. If you request our priority service we will despatch the copy within 1 working day by first class mail. Apply at the local Registration Office where the birth, death or marriage was originally registered. Apply by telephone to New Register House using our Certificate Ordering Service (Tel no: +44 131 314 4411).You will need to quote your Credit Card Details and Expiry Date Once you get it , it should have her parents marriege date and where married on it, and both her parents names (including her mothers maiden name) and occupations on it. You would then be able to go on Scotland's people and find that on there. Good luck Christine BTW Laidlaw is a very common surname in Scotland BTW Laidlaw is a very common surname in Scotland, so good luck.
