Anyone know of any other names that a child/female named Frances are called i.e shortened versions. I can't find my g.g.grandmother on any census and was thinking if her parents called hr by a shorted version maybe they out that on the census form. Any ideas? |

How about Fanny or Cissy? Also she could be using her middle name and have a completely different first name! Jeanette x |

Did she have a middle name? Ancestors seem to have a habit of swapping names over on certificates and census'. I've received my Gt Grandfathers birth cert today and his two names are reversed! |

I've had a big problem with a great great aunt who was Louisa yet she was always known as Kate and she never even had that as a middle name. Her parents entered her as Kate on the census but when she left home she used her real name Louisa and the next census reappeared staying with her sister and Brother in Law as Kate again. |
