Jeanette That's very peculiar - as the instructions on what to do seem to be geared towards the US users so I would have though Plus would have had it first Zoe

Hi zoe I had a look on Ancestry Plus but that option doesn't seem to be there. Jeanette x

Had a look at your entry, Zoe and can see how important it is to check that part of Ancestry in the future as it could be a treasure chest of info! I've seen it there but have never looked at it until today so thanks for bringing it to my attention. Aileenx

Following an earlier thread about names changes on ancestry I looked into how users submit them. It's worth noting that when you view an individuals 'Record Information' i.e. click on their name on census results, in the top right corner there is a link for 'comments and correction' which is not only where you can submit mistranscriptions but you can view those submitted by other users. There also appears to be an option for users to add alternate names e.g. putting a maiden name for a wife on a census. If you want to see what I mean you can look at a mistranscription I submitted by searching the 1891 for Oscar Simpson born New Barnet
