Pub Search - Much Birch, Herefordshire

One of my ancestors, Edward Addis, was a publican. He was born around 1760 and died around 1820 in Much Birch, Herefordshire. As people didn't seem to go in for travelling around much then I guess he probably lived and work in a pub in Much Birch with his wife. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can find out which pub he used to own? Many thanks. Helen

You could also try the local History Society and the Pubs website - I dont know what its like for Herefordshire but in Norfolk it gives all the old pubs and every landlord back hundreds of years. The other thing is you could find his licence in the local records office.

Thank you both very much for your advice. I'll give it a go! (just wondering which pub to go to to try and claim a free drink!). Kind regards Helen
