Wonder if anyone can help me. I am looking for a birth ref. for my ggrandfather Edward H Butt, born Barns Newington, London (or Middlesex, not quite sure which) born 1877, showing as 4 on the 1881 census, so birthday must be quite early in the year, but I can't find him anywhere. Any help gratefully received. His parents are Edward and Rhoda Butt, 11 Worgate Street, London on the 1881. There is also a brother Herbert shown on the 1891 aged 5. Many thanks Trudy. |

Hi Valerie, sorry, getting carried away with myself here, yes I had seen that on LDS, but where on earth can I get the cert ref. from, I can't find it on FreeBMD or 1837. Trudy |

Hi Georgina, have had another look at the image for the 1881, and if you look at the enumerators writing of 'Head' and then look at Edwards second initial, it is definitely a 'H'. Trudy |

Hi Valerie, yes I'd seen this one too - it is Dewsbury, which, if memory serves me right is West Midlands, and i'm definitely looking for London. Trudy |
