I'm hoping someone can help? I'm getting desperate and starting to pull out my hair! I'm looking for Samuel Nelmes. Born in Bristol in 1861. I've found him in 1871 (aged 9) and 1881 (aged 19) but I can't find him in 1891 and 1901. I know that he married an Alice Williams (nee Earwicker) in 1906 but he could have married before although I've not yet found another possible marriage for him. I'm getting really worked up because I can't find him. He's in Bristol in 1871, 1881 and he married there in 1906, although I've looked for him everywhere. What should I do? Should I just give up? Thanks for listening! Best Regards Helen x

What was his profession?

Hi Chloe, I don't know unfortunately. The only one I have is from the 1881 census and that was labourer.

I'm still waiting for it from GRO sadly.

It's possible that he joined the army? And might be out of the country? Still looking though.

Chloe, I suppose he could have joined the Army. The marriage cert will hopefully give me some more clues. Gosh I wish it would hurry up. Thanks for looking :)

I really can't see him. Patience is not one of my virtues either. ;-)
