Amy Your best move would be to either using 1837online or finding a local records office that holds the GRO index, find the marriage to the soldier. As you know she left when you father was 15 you've got a good starting point with the year. Remember you'll be looking for her under her first married name. Once you find the right name (hopefully in the right area) there will be a second column with the surname of the spouse. You then check the same year and quarter under that surname to find the first names of the person with a matching reference. If you want to be double sure you have the right person order the certificate asking that it only be sent if the brides maiden name or previous married name matches your grans. If that all works out fine you will end up with your grans new married name and her second husbands full name. Best of luck Zoe

Amy Just thinking if you put Canada in the title some of the Canadian Members may notice it quicker and you may get help quicker, just a suggestion I hope you don't mind me saying it. Pat x
