Hi Kerry There have been a lot of questions/answers about adoptions lately....if you type adopt in the threads text box(above the tips board) you will be able to view them, and perhaps get some ideas from there. The GRO has a section on their web page http://www*gro*gov*uk/gro/content/ (change* to a dot............links not allowed on here) Ann

Kerry Report 9 Feb 2005 09:31

I am trying to find my ilusive grandfathers wife. She would be 64 now and her name is Patricica Hayes(nee Stubbings). Her mum was called Peggy, Peggy was an unmarried young mum and went to a place called Hindhead in Surrey, a place where they went to have their babies. At 6 wks old, Patricia was adopted!! I`m not sure if she changed her name, but she must of found out her real name because Patricia Stubbings was what she put on the marriage cert. Peggy went on to have two more children, John and Peter, unfortunatley Peggy died of cancer 40years of age. This is where I hit a brick wall as I have no idea about how to find adopted people. Any help would be great. Thank you.xxx
