I have been lucky enough to obtain access to a few trees belonging to other members of GR. Can anyone tell me, if and when any of these people update their trees, is it their old one I see or the updated version? Does the information I see remain static, or change as they add information?

I think it would change as they added info as you are just given access to view their tree, not just one date of that tree, yes?

I would think the same as Heather. When you click on the name of the person whose tree you want to view it takes you to the page where their tree is. So like when we have updated our trees all the new info appears on our page. Does that make sense! lol Jeanette x

If they have given you permission you can click on their little tree anytime, cant you - their membership number remains the same no matter how many times they download the gedcom because you always keep the owner on the tree. I shall go and check! Yep, you can. I just checked out the tree of someone who has been in touch with me for about 6 months and we gave each other permission to see each others trees. I have recently added some to mine and told her about the additions - just clicked on to hers and my additions are on there so she must have added them recently!

Thanks, I guess I did not really think it through - I suppose it is obvious really. It was the answer I was hoping for.
