I have several family members married to brothers and sisters so I hope someone finds an answer

Thanks Seán, but I DON'T want to distinguish one from the other. That's the problem. Where someone already on my tree has married someone else on the tree, then those people will both appear twice, once as their original entry (someone's father, mother, etc) and once again as someone's partner; it adds extra "phanthom" people to the tree and provides room for errors in the details if I update the details of one entry, but forget that they appear somewhere else. I suppose I could create a middle name that indicates they're a copy, or else I could put in the Genes Reunited ID number for the entry.

You could try giving one lot a middle name or different place of birth to ditinguish one from the other. Shaun

Thanks Jeanette, I did mean on this site. That's bad news, I'll have to try and work around it, I hope I don't find any more such cross-links!

Hi Niall If you mean on this site then the simple answer is you can't! Great isn't it! There are plenty of programs out there that can do it though. Jeanette x

I have two instances in the family where brothers have married sisters or vice-versa and I don't know how to enter them in my GenesReunited tree. If I simply add the details, then the partners will be recorded as two different people, one of which is a duplicate or "phantom entry" which messes things up a bit. Does anyone know how to link to someone who appears elsewhere in the tree? Thanks in advance!
