Hayley I'm confused...if he died in 1870 leaving a wife and children, how can he have got married in 1875? Lou |

Hi Margaret, Thank You for looking. Charles Steel was actually married to the Frances Sawkill on the census you sent to me but he died in 1870 aged 30, leaving his wife and children who went to live with her mother. Thank You very much though xx |

Hayley Given the amount of Charles Steel's born in Yorkshire, you'll need to get his marriage cert. At least that way you can match him up with a father on the 1871 census and go from there Lou |

Hayley, I tried having a look on ancestry in the censuses, but there are quite a number of Charles Steels and my geography of Yorkshire is almost nil. Have you thought of getting the ancestry.(co).uk free two week trial so you could look for yourself?..I find the censuses so useful. Good hunting. Joan |

Can someone look for a Charles Steel for me? He was born in 1839/1840 in Yorkshire, but i'm not sure where. I know he married in Stokesley and died there too. |
