Could someone please please find David's parents/siblings, it's driving me mad. 1869 Deaths in the parish of Fearn, R & C. Scotland. David Vass deceased 15/05/1869 age 66yrs. (born 1803/4 birth record not found) Widow- Christina Vass nee Ross. Parents - John Vass, Fisherman, Deceased. & Janet Vass nee Vass, Deceased. Many Thanks, Mel in Oz.

Hi Melissa Have you got the marraige details? David Vass to Christy Ross, 31.12.1829 @ Nigg. (I presume its the Rossshire Nigg, but there is another one by Aberdeen). Only 2 x David Vass on scotlandspeople b. between 1800 and 1806. 12 Feb 1803 David Vass to David Vass & Margaret Vass, parish - Daviot & Dunlichty (invernessshire) 21 March 1806 David Vass to John Vass & Agnes Dalziel, but thats at Muirkirk , Ayrshire. If they're any relation at all, John and Agnes above were married @ Muirkirk on 22 March 1799, and there are another 3 children Andrew, James and Agnes. There are 2 entries for one John Vass & Janet marraige but not with her maiden name as Vass. 10 Dec 1778 John Vass to Jannet Findlay @ Belhelvie (Aberdeenshire) also entered as 10 Dec 1778 John Vass to Jannat Findlay at Logie Buchan (also Aberdeenshire) I hope there might be a little something new among that lot to help you forward. Hi Found Christina's death at Balintore Park Fearn in 1885 aged 80 On 1881 census she is living at same place with two unmarried daughters Annie 38 and Isabella 42 Hope that's some help. Margaret

Christina's death was registered by her grandson Finlay. According to his birth certificate (which shows the same address) his parents are Andrew and Isabella Vass

Sorry people should have given the full scoop first time around. It is the Christina (christy) Ross & David Vass that married 31/12/1829. According to records Christina died 1871 age 63 (born 1808), David died 1869 age 66 (born 1804 -calc by death age and 1851 Cen age 46). Have located (only ten minutes ago!!) that John Vass-David father was age 77 in 1851 Cen & 2 possibles for Janet Vass age 71 & 73. My only disappointment is that i've a Index of 1851 census. So doesn't any other detail than name,age, place. Doh!! Thanks, Mel. p.s. I've got the scoop on Christy & Davids family, i'm after John & Janet and their children. TX Mel.
