I have just found my father on the passenger list to Australia 1927 with date of arrival and name of ship; however he returned to England in the early 1930`s. I have just spent the last two hours searching the web for passenger lists to Southampton for this time period. Does anyone know of a good site except National Archives. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you, Elizabeth

Elizabeth, where did you find the passenger list? I've been trying to find passenger lists for the 1920's for ages and have had no luck, would love to know the web address please. Maria :)

Maria, I searched the National Archives of Australia - Passenger Report. It was under:http://naa12(.)naa.gov(.)au/scripts/Passenger Report(.)asp Remove the brackets. It took me ages to find it going from one page to the next. I think maybe I was lucky because although we have a common surname my father had a very unusual christian name so I knew it was him. The name of the ship, date of arrival and port of disembarkation was listed. I then "goggled" the ship name and found a photograph of it. Hope you have some luck. Peter, Thank you for the tip will try it out. Elizabeth
