I thought Ancestry BMD and FreeBMD were the same, but looking for a death of my g-g-g-granddad Ancestry has.. Name: BUTLER, William Record type: Death Age at death: 58 Quarter: September Year: 1876 District: Tendring County: Essex Volume: 4a Page: 166 And FreeBMD has…. Deaths Sep 1877 BUTLER William 58 Tendring 4a 166 Which year do you think is right? Sandra

1877 is correct. FreeBMD have the actual images from the GRO Indexes. I checked both Sep 1876 and Sep 1877 and he appears in 1877. Have saved the image if you would like it. Lesley
