That's what I was thinking Peta - was she a loose woman? Her mother had her out of wedlock, but wait for it her mother Maria Rebecca Hall married in 1868 a George Chantler -George's second marriage and Maria's first aged 56 and she married a Chantler? Have tried looking for sons of George - no John's that would have married Georgiana none! Lin |

first we start of with a Maria Georgiana Hall b 1837 Kennington to Maria Rebecca Hall. Georgiana married abt 1857 a John Chantler and they had a son John Chantler b 1858 in Gravesend. Then Georgiana marries I don't know who, but on her sons birth cert it states Son Peter McGregor Campbell b 1861 St Pancras, father Peter McGregor mother Georgiana Campbell formally Chantler then she marries a John Hill there she is known as Maria Georgiana Campbell. For the life of me I have not been unable to find any marriage between Maria/Georgiana and Chantler or Campbell/McGregor and she is proving a real pain in the you know what. I know this is a long shot, but can anyone give any suggestions on how to get beyond Mr Chantler/Campbell/McGregor. Many thanks for reading this Linda |
