After months of not being able to find my grandmother or her sisters in the 1901 census I looked closer at the image where I had found her mother & younger brother. A couple of numbers along I found Grannie with my Aunt age one & Grans youngest sister. Printing out the transcript I found Gran had been wrongly transcribed as Anna instead of Maud & Baker instead of Barker. A closer look at the image revealed, between Gran & gr Gran, her elder sister & family. Gr Aunt Inez Anne being transcribed as Iringar. I hope that helps someone else Vivienne

You are absolutely right. I looked up something for someone recently and sent him the transcribed details. Oh, he said I was hoping a young Eliza would be with the family. Back I go, there she is on the image, last line!

Vivienne I agree. Often you find mistranscriptions, or relatives who are in the same household but over the page. Many times other members of the family live in the same street so its worth checking households either side. In case you didn't know you can e-mail mistranscriptions to the 1901 official site, using their feedback form. I've had to correct quite a few of my relatives. But they only correct it if the transcription is wrong, not if there is a mistake on the original form. nell
