Family Tree Software - help please!

Hi Stewart Are you saying that Generations produces documents in a non-standard file format? If so, I suggest that you get hold of a very useful freeware utility called PDF995. (Just enter that name in Google.) This lets you create a PDF version of any printable document. Dave

Im afraid I think they all need the software the other end if you want to send a whole ged com. But I am def no expert, so perhaps someone else knows. With FT2005 you can export to PAF. And you can do your own website with all your info (easy peasy, just clicking next a lot!) and then send the addy for all your relatives to look at, which may be nicer. Because as you update it the site automatically sends a message to your contacts to let them know a new piccy or text has been added.

I have Generations family tree software which is very good but it means that I cannot give an electronic copy of my family tree to anyone unless they have the software downloaded on their pc. Does anyone know of a family tree programme that uses Word or something similar which would be compatable with all pc's. I would like to send CD-roms of my tree to all my relations.
