hi all, Does an absent parent (if the whereabouts is known), have to give consent to the addoption of a child (born within a marriage that ended in divorce) by the step parent. If so is there any where i can find this. Sounds confusing, but i know what i mean.!! Joan

Thanks Julie, It is about 30years ago. Would it be the Court where the addoption was granted? If so is this on the addoption certificate? Thanks. Joan

Joan I'm not sure about the court that dealt with it being on the adoption certificate. There's no court listed on mine and that's about a similar timescale to the one you're looking at Lou
