I am trying to find info on George Halse born c1861 in Marazion, Cornwall. At the time of the 1871 census he was living in Penzance workhouse with his brother Edward. In c1887 he married Martha Williams and had a number of children. From marriage cert, I believe his father was called John. Please help with any suggestions, can't find anything out about the Halse family before 1871!!!! Juliana x

There is this marriage on Ancestry civil reg: Name: Halse, George Henry Record Type: Marriages Quarter: December Year: 1886 District: Penzance County: Cornwall Volume: 5c Page: 419 It has Martha Hockin Williams on the same page. If this is the right wedding, you could get the cert which would confirm George's father's name and give his occupation. You could then use this infoto find George's father on the 1861 census - hopefully with George's mum. nell
