The inquest records might survive in the local records office, but this is rare. Your best bet is to look for a report in the local newspaper, available in the local studies library or the British newspaper library at Colindale. B |

Hi Karen. I needed the same thing recently. firstly i emailed liverpool coroners office to see if the records for 1903 survived. sadly they had not. i then emailed liverpool records office. they were very helpful. i paid 10.00 and the sent me a copy of the newspaper report, and also the hospital work house records were my gg grandfather was taken before he died. it was well worth it for me as it was cheaper than paying the train fare for me to get there. linda |

I have a couple of certs where it indicates an inquest was held... my one great grandfather had a lengthy write up in the local paper regarding his death and the newspaper was kind enough to send me a copy... I wrote to the Coroner's Office and they told me records are destroyed after 20 years and that unless a newspaper did a writeup I was out of luck as far as getting a report. |
