How did I find this out - Well my grandfather s birth certificate said mother Ada Stubbington formerly Wright, then got the first born's certificate (after about years) and it said Mother Ada Stubbington formerly Webb, so went down the Ada Webb line for a marriage, as there is no marriage for an Ada Wright to a William Stubbington. Found Ada Webb marrying William Wright which means she would have been known at different times as Ada Webb and Ada Wright. It s the right year and the the town where she lived for 50 years where she married. So thats how the wall came crashing down......................

Your brick wall has tumbled and revealed a skeleton behind it! Hope the cert helps to put some flesh on the bones. nell

I have posted several messages to do with one of my brick walls, and it now looks like I have finally broken it down. The lady in question was born in the USA and was the 'wife' of my great grandfather. She married in 1876 to another man and then a couple o fyears later appears to be with my g grandfather. So for a couple of years I have been looking for an Ada Wright birth when I should have been looking for an Ada Webb one. Have just found the marriage of William Blest Wright and Ada Webb in Woolwich which is where she spent her adult life, must be the same lady, so now I will beable to find out her fathers name hopefully form the marriage certificate when it arrives - yippee!! It appears they lived in sin for at least 50 years! The old b------!
