how can i find their parents?

how can i find the parents of 2 of my reles? Their names are Joseph Jenkinson wo was born around 1813. in either Whitehaven or Lamplugh, cumberland and Ann/e barn/es born around 1817 in lamplugh, cumberland. they were married 12.11.1838 in lamplugh, cumberland according to family search. i dont know what to do apart from buying marriage cert. |

Natalie Apart from buying the marriage cert, you could see the marriage register in the county records office, but you would need to visit, you can't see it online. You could also check the baptism records which should give the father's full name, mother's first name (possibly maiden name) and perhaps the father's occupation if you are lucky. You could then search for father and mother's marriage in the registers. But of course they might not have married there... nell |

Have you looked on LDS site? Someone on the site may be able to find them if they have the baptism records. The marriage cert will give parents names but to go any further back it will have to be parish records. Finger's crossed ! Alice Sorry I am dozy! You found marriage on Family search! Eyes going.. hi nell. id love to go to the place where they lived but i live on the south coast and they come from cumberland!!!! All of my amily comes form absolute miles away. even Russia!!! Geoff, i think ill order the certificate. i didnt realise they go back that far!! thanks for your help everyone |
