Thank you soooooo much Jackie! I had accumulated a number of possible marriages for either of them - and none of them are Epsom. lol I didnt expect it to be that early either, to be honest - so Norman William must have been one of the last i guess. Have a better idea of ages now and will relook thru the census years. Much appreciated Jackie Sue

Susan First, I would try to find the parents on the 1901 census which would give you an idea about their ages and where they were. Then you can start looking for a marriage when the bride was 12 (although she was probably older, legally she could have married then). You could see if there were other Sands births before/after this one which might be siblings to help narrow down your search. In my family, people generally married about a year before (or after) the birth of their first child. Who's Norman? nell

Have just got the birth certificate for a G Grandfather Norman William Sands Born: 23 December 1921 Place: Wolverhampton, Staffs. Father: William Henry Sands Steam Lorry Driver Mother: Alice Louise Little I cant seem to find marriage records that go up to 1921 but as i have no idea when William and Alice married...... It might have been just before Norman was born - or it could have been 20 years before that and any time in between. And of course there was the first World War in between. I have searched everywhere i can think of - it doesnt help not knowing where they lived before Norman either. lol Any tips much appreciated Sue
