Hi Patrica Do you have any details of his regiment? If so you could get his records of service at Kew which should tell you where he was in 1901 plus other details. You would have to visit the records office at Kew in person or failing that employ a researcher. Try looking on the net at ''nationalarchives'' it will tell you how to go about it. He isn't on the 1901 census as he was away in the Boer War.Thanks for your help.
