Although, to be honest, if thats the only info you have to go on, no census would help you nor directories. |

Someone with access to Essex record office or libraries in or near Upminster with local history section may be able to look him up in a Kelly's directory for the area. |

the latest census to be able to view is the 1901 census. You can possibly get an electoral register look up for the address for 1935, but there are no census's for that year. |

No such thing Denise, a census is taken every ten years, the first one available is 1841, the latest is 1901, due to the 100yr privacy rule Regards Sam |
