All men 21 or over and all women 30 or over could vote in from 1918. Women's age was reduced to 21 in about 1928. |

Hi. Can someone tell me how someone was eligable to vote around 1920. I have been looking at the electoral rolls for Portsmouth to try and follow what happened to my grand parents. I can't find them on the electoral rolls for the years when I know their address, ie 1920. I have a feeling they were tenants as they were in a privately owned apartment. Did you have to be a property owner? Thanks. Stella Timewell |
