It seems a bit strange don't you think? Iv'e got the ships official number as well, 160244. It is on the corner of his death certificate. Any idea as to where else I can look? |

are you sure it wasn't the ship "ss ella" as I have found a reference to a murder on that ship in 1953 in the Times Digital Archives. regards, Siobhan |

Can anyone help please? My uncle was lost at sea during heavy seas in 1953 aged 19. Aboard the same ship (SS Cara) and during the same trip there was a murder, somebody (an arab) was stabbed, by another arab. On my uncles birth certificate it states cause of death as being "presumed killed or drowned"??????? Any idea where I can find out some more information on this? Thanks. |
