I must say, I thought at first that the PRYMMs in Ancestry would just have arisen from this example of the GRO list, but I made a precautionary visit to Google (saved myself some embarrassment!), and it certainly does seem to be a genuine name. However, I'm pretty confident about this one being PRYNN. Christine

Then again, she could have been wrongly written on her birth cert. Mistakes happen all the time and the more times a record is copied or transcribed the more chances there are for it to happen. There are 3 matches for Prymm on Ancestry civil reg and one for Prymme (in Islington) so its possibly a name in its own right, or at least a variation on Prynn. nell

Just to share this info... Have been trying to find birth of Elizabeth Ann PRYNN in Devonport 1860-63 (depending which census age!). Just couldn't find her. Was looking again at the 1837Online images I'd saved - and there she is ... Elizabeth Ann "PRYMM" born 1861 Jul-Sep in Devonport. It's one of the typed lists, so has clearly been mis-transcribed in the GRO list - along with Sarah Jane "PRYMME" born Islington, who, I imagine, was really "Sarah Jane PRYNNE". ..... The 1861 lists are largely typed, which could explain a lot! Christine
