I just entered my dads birth even gave his mums maiden name - zilch for the area I know he was born in. Widened it to all London zilch again - 1914.

I've had pretty good success so far, except with finding the death of mine I know HAS to be there (unless he changed his name after the 1901 which isn't impossible with my lot!) and the one of Heather's that SHOULD be there cos its on ancestry! Lou

Hi All I too am not too enthralled by this site. I tested it by searching for 'definites' and the rubbish that came back was appalling, so I've complained, twice. I look forward to being persuaded that they're ok. Regards Patricia

1894 - Im not sure if its a case of not all there as the system not all there, if you see what I mean. I think they have got some teething probs that are just not searching - I had the same with another one I put in zilch, but I know the kid was born and I went 2 years either way. Heres 1837: ame: Jenkins, Ellen Elizabeth Record Type: Births Quarter: September Year: 1894 District: St Saviour Southwark County: London Surrey Volume: 1d Page: 2

Heather I'm not overly convinced that it IS 100% transcribed. I've done a search for a death from 1871-1920 (which is supposed to be complete) and the person isn't there, no matter which why I spell his surname or variations of his first name. Given that he was alive on the 1871 census and didn't die between 1871 and 1920, he must have lived to be at least 115! Lou x

What year was the birth?

Heather

Heather Report 22 Jan 2005 20:50

Ive just spent ages on there again trying to find a birth. I then put in a birth already found on 1837 and guess what - it came up with 0 results - how come? Ive emailed them again!
