Twinkle just found them in 1881. Elizabeth's age is 49 then, giving an even earlier year of birth (1831/32) - well before civil reg.

If her age on the census was right (which it may not be of course!), then she would have been born 1836 or early 1837 (i.e. before April 2nd, census night). Civil registration didn't start until July 1837, so she may have just missed out - in which case, she won't be on FreeBMD/Ancestry/FamilyRelatives/1837online as they are for civil reg. In that case, your only chance is the parish records, so you'll need to find her town of birth. Maybe try to find her on the 1861 census. Richard

Hi, trying to find Elizabeth Katherine Alexander, on 1871 census had married Francis Plummer in warwickshire, but states she was born in northamptonshire. have tried freebmd, ancestry, family reletives, lds, now run out of ideas! age on '71 census states 34, so would have been born c1837. any help or ideas much appreciated
