Thanks Heather, Nell, Sue- Did find some sites, but seems to be a bit of a minefield. Can't decide which would be best to use- There's seems to be so much info to trawl through to see if each site is worth even looking at. Found a lot of Polish language too, which as lovely as it looks I don't understand any!! Looking forward to you list Sue. Thanks Simone x

Simone If they were naturalised, you might find info here: www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/familyhistory/naturalisation/ I don't think there are any records of immigration from Poland. If they were Jewish, there are quite a lot of sights regarding Jewish ancestry. If not, I can only suggest that you google "Polish genealogy" and see what happens, and also have a look on Cyndi's list. nell

Hi you could try the National Archives Website. They have a section for immigrants.

Anyone any ideas best way to go with Polish ancestry. have Polish family in England on 1871 census, no trace on 1861 as far as I can tell- Where to next? Simone x
