HACKNEY HELP PLEASE

My mom was born in Hackney and baptized a Roman Catholic. I have her baptism certificate but it does not say the church name on it so I assume it was St. John The Baptist. It is signed by the priest though so is there anywhere I can find out where that priest was in 1921. Also I am sure she once told me that she spent a period in a catholic childrens home run by nuns, does anyone know of one in the East End of London. |

Rosemary, Tried to find the website you mentioned, as wondered where RC baptism records are held, but unable to find site. Am I doing something wrong? Jean x. |

Hi There, I've a feeling I recal children staying in the convent in Haslett St, Homerton. The chuch attached, I think is St Josephs and is in Kenworthy Road, Is there no other indication on the cert of area, Hackney really is a very big place!! Suex |
