Gina Parish baptism registers - I hope you have a good idea where the birth took place! Baptism registers usually record the date of baptism and the parents names, but don't always give mother's maiden name. Sometimes they give fathers' occupation - especially if there was another chap of the same name in the area. Occasionally you get the birth date too, often if the child is baptised some time after its birth. Parish baptism registers are in the county records office. Sometimes they are microfilmed and often there are typed transcripts, sometimes by local family history societies. Good luck. nell |
