Assuming you're talking about after 1837... Depending on the likely area, you might find a local BMD site via: http://www.ukbmd.org.uk/ Like FreeBMD, there are gaps, but they tend to be different gaps. You can order certs from the Local offices - same fees as GRO, service at least as good. Otherwise local FHSs sometimes have relevant publications to buy. Christine

Ancestry have the Civil Death Index from 1984-2002. If you want anything looking up between those dates just ask and I will look them up for you. Maggy

Try familyhistoryonline. You have to register, but pay nothing unless you actually want to look at an entry. Alternatively, ask for a lookup in the NBI (National Burial Index) on the Records Office board. Family History Societies started preparing indexes specifically because the LDS site only has baptisms and marriages. Other organisations have done their own thing. Devon FHS offers look ups and sells booklets for various dates and parishes. B

how morbid does that sound? just having realy difficulty finding a death. anyone know any good sites?
