I have a date and place of a marriage (17.10.53) Newchurch how do i go about trying to get information from that to find out the name of the parents of the couple who have got married. Kind regards Gail |

You can either contact the local register office and buy the certificate from there, or you can order it from the GRO. As you probably don't have the GRO reference, the first option is probably better. |

Gail The fathers of the bride and groom will be on the cert. Both parents will only be on the bride/groom's birth certs. Their ages should be on the marriage cert so you can narrow down to about a year in which to search their births. If the fathers have unusual names you can look for their marriage certs. nell |
