That was a 20s fine with 18s costs..... very expensive for falling asleep and not controlling his horses !! That is nearly £120 in todays money. Bet he got an ear bashing for that !!! Andrea :o)

Something odd about this thread, Andrea. I added a response to your reply and the whole thing collapsed for a while. And then not only did my reply not "take" but yours disappeared too. Weird. 38s - that's almost two pounds! What a lot of money. Christine

Thanks Christine !! Just found my 3x G.Grandfather Frederick Mitcham on there..... he had been fined a total of 38s !! Andrea :o)
