This sounds like a Catholic association to me. There is a "Holy Souls Crusade" which encourages people to pray for the holy souls in purgatory to help them reach heaven. I'm not sure that any records would exist to explain your ancestors link but try looking at www(.)holysoulscrusade(.)org for info or perhaps the priest at your nearest RC church could help. Louise

my nan very recently died and i havwe been given lots of family stuff. in the papers i found a leaflet which has the heading ASSOCIATION OF THE CRUSADE OF PRAYER FOR THE SOULS OF PURGATORY a bit further down it has the name Louisa Mckenna RIP was registered in the association on the 25 aug 1936. I believe this was my great great grandmother. But does this mean she died then as i can find no record of this on 1837 or what. it says rip but on the back it states that members of the crusade undertake to say once a week the rosary for the holy souls and so forth. does anyone know what this is? any ideas greatly appreciated lynsey
