I would try the British Library site or the National Archives. You should find catalogues which detail at least some of the East India archives, and info on where else to look. Carole

Is there any source of information for the officers and crew of ships of the East Indies Company in the 17th and 18th centuries? Ancestors settled in West Bengal in mid 17c working as Captains on the ships. I am trying to find where they came from before then.
